Why do we kiss?

When I see someone I fancy I want to kiss them. I want our tongues to collide.

Eskimos don't tongue. Neither do the British traditionally.

I can't see the major evolutionary driving force behind kissing. I've got no idea if apes do it. The most reknowned horny apes tend to fuck and fuck anything. I don't know if kissing is significant to the Benobos.
