The difficulty of treating suicide

This is a sad tale. A soldier who killed himself. He tried everything it seems. Everything know thus far at least. Soldiers are tough bastards. I can't imagine what hell he was going through but I can understand his decision to terminate his life.

There's also an interesting statistic at the start of this American news piece.
"Forty-five percent of the 32,000 Americans who commit suicide each year visit their primary care provider within one month of taking their lives. Ninety percent suffer from a mental health or substance abuse disorder, or both."
