The mental illness license

Mental illness is like driving an insane car. It's hard to drive but
people learn. They may need help to learn but they'll learn to drive
their craziness. to manage it and cope with it.

This isn't understood by psychiatry though. I wish there was the sort of
thing where an expert patient trained to self-manage and pass
theoretical and real life tests could be allowed to self-manage and
still use services without the threat of coercion. It's the license to
drive a mad car unaided - and this could be like learning to drive a
rocket powered car, but some people can manage it. People learn to
self-manage without medication after several years of neuroleptic
treatment. Mary Maddocks of Mind freedom Ireland has recently celebrated
her first decade medication free.
She's earned her license to drive but it's not recognised. There should
an equivalent for people who drive insane cars like severe mood swings
or delusional experiences of consciousness.

About Me

We It comes in part from an appreciation that no one can truly sign their own work. Everything is many influences coming together to the one moment where a work exists. The other is a begrudging acceptance that my work was never my own. There is another consciousness or non-corporeal entity that helps and harms me in everything I do. I am not I because of this force or entity. I am "we"
