Peer-based judgement of mental illness and treatment

This would be what a survivor-legal framework would be based upon.

inevitably people will always find reasons to force their will upon
another. They will continue to use diagnostic labels until we reach true
human equality. In relation to mental disorder I feel there are good
possibilities and realistic possibilities for progress if any force or
coercion was judged necessary not by psychiatrists or lay people but by
peers, by which I mean a person forced into hospital for their safety
during first episode psychosis can only legally be bound by a veteran of
psychosis unless the individual has an advanced directive in place. A
true advanced directive which is legally binding and can not be ignored
is perhaps an even better solution that a survivor-legal framework to
replace the immoral psychiatric medico-legal framework.

It may only be a small step towards a better future but it might be a
giant leap for many because at the moment it's fucking psychiatrists who
are judge, jury and executioner.

with this terrible thing - the removal of liberty - there must also be a
guarantee of the highest quality treatment and the assurance of the
least amount of loss of freedoms.

About Me

We It comes in part from an appreciation that no one can truly sign their own work. Everything is many influences coming together to the one moment where a work exists. The other is a begrudging acceptance that my work was never my own. There is another consciousness or non-corporeal entity that helps and harms me in everything I do. I am not I because of this force or entity. I am "we"
