The problem with Wiki's success

The modern way to find answers to questions is to do an internet search.
Wikipedia usually comes top.

Their information is written in the style of an encyclopedia. It is
written for use by academics. The Wikipedia information should remain as
it is because it serves a purpose. The 'problem' is that an encyclopedia
of reference quality material covers lots of information that may not be
suitable for the public.

For example, the Wikipedia suicide page has a lot of links to research
on methods including success rates. This sort of information is
important to researchers and Wiki provides this for free to everyone. It
is not the best information to present to someone who is suicidal.
